Little Rock, AR (Future150) -- It didn't take long for the Florida Gators to make waves on the recruiting trail during the spring AAU season. Wednesday night, they picked up a commitment from Arkansas 5-star prospect KeVaughn Allen.
The North Little Rock (AR) product is coming off a huge junior season in which he led the Charging Wildcats to their second Class 7A state championship in a row. He averaged 21 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game while being named the 2014 Arkansas Gatorade Player of the Year.
Future150 has him currently ranked as the #19 prospect in the country, which we've been aggressive with since last season. The reasoning behind it is because of not only the tools he possesses, but his improvement each time we've seen him.
The 6-foot-2 shooting guard is one of the most explosive leapers in the country, but that's not all he can do. The strong wing is deadly when penetrating to the basket and his jump shot has been developing.
Two weekends ago, we saw him playing at the Real Deal in the Rock with his hometown Arkansas Soldierz team, where he had a fantastic weekend. For the duration of AAU season, he will be playing on the Nike EYBL circuit with Memphis power Team Penny.
He chose the Gators over scholarship offers from Arkansas, Memphis, Wake Forest, Mississippi State, and others.
