Portland, OR (Future150) -- Texas Longhorns head coach Shaka Smart certainly seems to have things rolling in Austin when it comes to recruiting. After landing elite post Mo Bamba for the 2017 cycle, things are looking even stronger for 2018, especially after landing Alaska native Kamaka Hepa on Tuesday.
With the addition of the 6'9" Portland Jefferson (OR) forward, Texas now has a top 10 class in the country for the recruiting cycle. One of the most versatile big men in the country, he's the type of prospect who has a deadly skill set. He has excellent footwork and moves very well around the rim, can stretch defenses with his impressive perimeter shooting, and is also a gifted passer or a big man. Playing on the AAU circuit with the Portland Basketball Club on the Nike EYBL Circuit, he proved to be one of the elite big men in America.
Choosing Texas over Gonzaga, he becomes the fourth pledge for Shaka Smart in 2018. He joins a high upside group of prospects in Gerald Liddell, Jaxson Hayes & Brock Cunningham.
