Richmond, VA (Future150) -- After running Butler out of the gym, Shaka Smart and the Rams received some more good news on Saturday afternoon.
Jonathan Williams, a 2014 point guard out of St. Benedict's (NJ), gave his commitment to VCU following their 30-point win.
Williams caught up with Future150.com following his commitment. Several factors went into his commitment.
"It's close to home, I love the coaching staff and the playing style, and the players, too. It's just a great fit all-around," he told Future150.
Many may think VCU's big win on Saturday played a big part in his commitment, but Williams has had his mind made up for quite sometime.
"I probably made my mind up two weeks ago," he explained. "But the win on Saturday just made me see myself playing there more."
Williams also had offers from Wisconsin and Wagner, along with interest from UCF, Florida Atlantic, Rutgers, St. Joseph's, Tennessee, and Seton Hall.
He is a three-star according to Future150.
