New York, NY (Future150) -- Day two was the longest day of them all at The Rumble in the Bronx. Games started at Baruch College at 8 AM and didn't end until 11 PM at John Jay. With such a long day there was plenty of time for new faces to stand out, as well as others continuing to improve their stock. Here are the players who seperated themselves from the pack:
Elisha Boone, 2014 PG, 44 Elite 16's: Boone is still making the transition to full time point guard duties but his talent was on display in an early morning game. He got to the rim whenever he wanted and either finished himself or dished it to the open teammate. He ended up having what was the deciding layup in a double overtime thriller.
John Crosby, 2014 PG, Team Melo 16's: Crosby is a big point guard who seemingly glides around the floor and always plays under control. He led his team to victory in a game Saturday morning and was the main reason why. He is a true point guard that likes to set his teammates up more than he enjoys scoring. Big East and ACC schools are after him.
Kahari Beaufort, 2014 SG, NY Lightning 16's: Beaufort is tantilizingly talented and he had his skills on display on Saturday. It was impossible to keep him out of the lane as he finished with both hands around the rim. He says UConn is the team to beat for him right now.
Cheick Diallo, 2015 C, Team Scan 16's: Diallo has come out of seemingly nowhere to put himself in solid position to be a potential top 20 kid in the class of 2015. The big man runs the floor exceptionally well and blocks a lot of shots. In addtion he is an elite rebounder and has shown great touch around the rim.
Marial Shayok, 2014 SF, CIA Bounce 16's: Another name that came out of nowhere on Saturday, Shayok is a big time athlete. He was a well kept secret due to him playing in Canada, but that has changed. The 6-foot-6 wing put the ball on the floor, got to the rim, and drilled three pointers in a rout. He showed elite scoring abilities.
Marcus Foster, 2013 SG, Dallas Mustangs: Foster filled it up during a comeback loss on Saturday night against the BC Eagles. Down double digits early, Foster was able to keep his team alive with his knockdown shooting. While he put the ball on the floor at times, it is obvious he is a near elite shooter.
Shavar Newkirk, 2014 PG, Team Scan 16's: While Diallo stole the show on Saturday, Newkirk quietly played solidly as well. He often got to the rim and finished or pulled up for a mid-range jumper. Newkirk might not be as talked about as some of his teammates but he is surely just as talented.
Aaron Ray, 2015 SG, Team Scan 15's: The little brother of former Villanova great Allen Ray, Aaron showed why he is a talented guard prospect in his own right on Saturday. As soon as he stepped onto the floor he forced turnovers and scored the ball at a high rate. The future is bright for him and Villanova has already offered.
Kuran Iverson, 2013 SF, NY Lightning: Iverson is as good as he wants to be. Saturday night he was locked in and showed how good he really is. He got to the rim with ease and was hitting jumpers from deep all night. At this point we hope that Iverson can keep this play up. If he does he is an elite prospect in 2013.
Dayshon Smith, 2013 PG, NY Lightning: Smith was one of the high risers in the Spring and showed why in a game against the NY Panthers. Smith used a bevy of spin moves and others to get into the lane whenever he wanted. He had the ball on a string and set his teammates up for easy baskets all game. Simply put, he did everything you look for in a point guard.
Bruce Brown, 2015 SG, BABC 15's: At 6-foot-4 Brown already has the protypical size for the two guard position at the next level. He is athletic and that was on displayon Saturday as he scored a ton slashing through the middle of the lane. With his size and handle he is a matchup nightmare and a major reason BABC got the W.
DeAndre Bembry, 2013 SF, Sports U: Bembry had a big night for the second night in a row, scoring the ball with ease yet again. He uses his athleticism to create open looks for himself and plays well above the rim. If he can improve his shooting ability from the perimeter, look out!
Marcel Petteway, 2015 PF, BABC 15's:While Brown did a majority of his damage slashing through the lane, Petteway did his on the block. Time and time again he sealed his man and scored the ball, including a series of powerful dunks that drew huge reactions from the crowd. While he will need to grow more, Petteway showed how skilled he is in the post at such a young age.
Marvin Prochet, 2015 SF, New Rens 15's: He was easily the best prospect for the Rens on Saturday and played well in a loss to BABC. He already has great size for the position and showed off a nice stroke from deep, hitting 4 three pointers.
