Miami, FL (Future150) -- After visiting Connecticut over the weekend, 2015 shooting guard Prince Ali decided to end his recruitment.
The Sagemont School (FL) 6-foot-4 shooting guard fits perfectly into Kevin Ollie's system, and will bring his scoring prowess to Storrs in two seasons. He loves to play uptempo basketball and will become a big scorer in a Connecticut uniform.
The Bronx, New York native has family still in the New York metro area, and he had hinted at playing college basketball close to home in the northeast in the past.
The Huskies had recruited him hard over the past few years, offering him a scholarship in March. Here is what he had to say to Future150 analyst Garrett Tucker at the time.
"I’m very interested in UConn. It’s close to where I am originally from, and the program produces a lot of professionals. I’m glad to see my work is paying off, though.”
Look for continued improvement from Ali as he embarks on his junior season with the added motivation of trying to live up to Connecticut's alumni of talented guard's who have come through the program.
