Dallas, TX (Future150) -- The UCLA Bruins landed their second commitment in the 2019 recruiting cycle on Monday afternoon when North Crowley (TX) combo guard Grant Sherfield pledged.
The 4-star prospect and 6'2" guard was the headliner for Dallas based YGC36 on the Adidas Circuit this past AAU season, and he's an explosive scorer who thrives as a shooter who can get hot from the perimeter. He is also a fearless driver who has a knack for making plays around the rim against much bigger defenders, making him one of the most dangerous guards in the country in his class.
The commitment of Sherfield could also serve as insurance for whatever happens with LaMelo Ball, who is also committed to UCLA for the class. But we all know that his NCAA eligibility may be compromised with everything that has gone on with him this fall.
With or without Ball, Grant Sherfield is a solid addition for UCLA and sets the tone for them going forward as they look to add to their class with a few big men.
