Portsmouth, VA (Future150) -- 2017 SG Travis Ingram of I.C. Noncom (VA) is a big time utility guard and could stretch out his offer list this year. Ingram already holds four low-major offers from Bethune-Cookman, Coppin State, Hofstra, and Norfolk State and could see that number expand if he continues to play with his high energy skillset, and improves his overall scoring abilities.
Ingram is a big time rebounding guard that has a motor that never slows down or stops. Most of his offense comes from slashing the lane and drawing fouls to go to the line. His on-ball defense is also a very impressive and mature part of his game.
"During the offseason I really tried to work on my handles and my jumper, and I also worked on (conditioning) by running the track everyday," Ingram said.
All this work and improvement has led to a handful of schools starting to keep eyes on Ingram lately, including a few high majors.
"East Carolina, Kent State, Murray State, Nebraska-Omaha, Old Dominion, VCU, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia, have all been showing interest in me lately. With Nebraska-Omaha, and VCU on me the hardest."
VCU tracking Ingram closely makes plenty of sense, as he is a guard that could fit perfectly in their system with his tough nosed defense and abilities to slash the lane and finish through contact with ease.
If Ingram keeps up this level of play and improvement, VCU won't be the only high major program staying on his tracks. Continue to follow along with Future150 as we follow Ingram's progress and other prospects around Virginia.
