Richwood, TX (Future150) -- Class of 2017 SF and Future150 Camp Alumni Tim Samuel has been having a big time summer with the Brazoria Ballers, and is starting to prove his worth as a division one prospect.

Last weekend in Houston, Samuel led his team to huge wins over Texas Pro and Basketball University during bracket play at the Future150 Memorial Day Classic. He put up big time numbers, easily averaging over 20 points per game, and dominated the glass despite matching up against bigger guys on defense.

"I've really been working on my free throws and my ability to shoot the ball from deep," Samuel said. "I've also been focused on becoming a better team leader."

He certainly displayed all three of these qualities last weekend, and some. Samuel shot a very high percentage from the line, and had no trouble draining three's when he had space. His leadership was outstanding as he was always talking on both ends of the floor, and for the few minutes he was on the bench to catch his breath, he was always actively cheering for his squad.

With these improvements, along with his already solid all-around game, Samuel has seen a few D1 schools show interest in him for the last few months.

"The schools that have been showing interest lately are Navy, Lamar, and Northwestern State," Samuel said. "Dallas Baptist (D2) has also expressed interest."

The way things have been going lately, it wouldn't surprise many if Samuel evolves into one of the low/mid-major late-bloomers of the 2017 class. He is continually improving, and has shown time and time again that he can compete with high level talent.

"I have a passion for the game, I play hard, and I work hard on and off the court," said Samuel. "However, I'm also able to defend multiple positions on the court, and I believe that helps my game a lot."

Keep your eyes on Samuel heading forward as his best basketball seems to be ahead of himself. Stay locked in with Future150 as we continue to track his recruitment process and development closely.
