Philadelphia, PA (Future150) -- Team Final has a long history of having talented guards in their program, and this year is no different. While a lot of attention has been spent on Lonnie Walker and Cam Reddish, Daron Russell deserves attention as well.
The 5-foot-10 lead guard has blazing speed and decent vision, but what sets him apart is his toughness. A quintessential Philadelphia point guard, he also has a bit of flare to his game as well.
Seton Hall, East Carolina and SMU have all made him a priority, as the three programs where at every one of his games during the April live periods.
Just yesterday he took an unofficial visit to Seton Hall, but SMU is making a serious push for his services as well.
"I really like the Mustangs, Coach Brown contacts me a lot and shows me love, he came and visited me at school, he's a really nice guy and I have really good conversations with him, I really like The Mustangs" Russell said of SMU.
Those are far from the only programs recruiting him though. Texas, Temple and Stanford are also involved as well. Russell has proven he can play at the highest level as he's averaged a very impressive 14 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals a contest in the EYBL this season. For that reason, expect Russell to have plenty of new suitors in July. It will be interesting to see if they can make up ground on both SMU and Seton Hall.
