Salt Lake City, UT (Future150) -- The Big Dance is finally here and while everyone would like to cut down the nets, there can only be one champion. That being said, there is always the chance that the next season could be better than the last. With that in mind, Future150 would like to introduce "The Next Step", a segment dedicated to breaking down each program's recruiting class as they bow out of the tournament; because theres' always next season.
Utah ran into a suddenly red hot Gonzaga squad on Saturday night, ending their run and effectively the college careers of Jordan Loveridge, Brandon Taylor, and Dakari Tucker.
The other Coach K has turned the Utah program into one of the PAC-12's best though, and has a talented three man group coming in next year.
JuCo guard JoJo Zamora is a high level scorer and shooter who should find minutes sooner rather than later thanks to his ability to put the ball in the basket. SMU transfer Sedrick Barefield will become eligible, giving the Utes a steady lead guard as well. Rounding out the class is top 100 wing Devon Daniels, an athletic shooter built in a similar mold to Jordan Loveridge. Daniels has a chance to be an all-conference player in time, as he has really just begun to hit his stride. It is worth noting that Jayce Johnson will also be eligible next season after heading to Salt Lake City a year early. Johnson is a skilled seven-footer who will be asked to lessen the blow of potentially losing Poeltl to the NBA.
The bottom line is that there is plenty of talent on this roster, and the Utes seem to be a lock for a top three finish in the Pac-12 next season.
