Cincinnati, OH (Future150) -- The Big Dance is finally here and while everyone would like to cut down the nets, there can only be one champion. That being said, there is always the chance that the next season could be better than the last. With that in mind, Future150 would like to introduce "The Next Step", a segment dedicated to breaking down each program's recruiting class as they bow out of the tournament; because theres' always next season.
After handling Weber State, Xavier fell to Wisconsin in the second round off of a buzzer beater. What's the next step for the Musketeers?
Coach Chris Mack isn't losing too much production from his seniors with major contributors Trevon Bluiett, Edmond Sumner, Myles Davis, and J.P. Macura all set to return next season.
The Musketeers have a two man class coming in that should be able to make some decent contributions next season.
Enter PG Quentin Goodin and PF Tyrique Jones. Goodin is a Future150 Alumni, and has good size at 6'2 and 170 pounds for the lead guard position. His biggest strength certainly has to be his scoring abilities and athleticism. Expect Goodin to start making an impact almost immediately.
On the other hand, Jones also has the talent to make a pretty solid impact in the frontcourt during his freshman season. Jones isn't much of a scorer, but uses his fantastic strength and athleticism to grab rebounds at a very high rate on both ends. If Jones develops some go to moves in the post, he could be an automatic double-double every game while at Xavier.
Look for Chris Mack's club to be back next season and it is very possible they could be even more dangerous than what they were this season.
