Ogden, UT (Future150) -- The Big Dance is finally here and while everyone would like to cut down the nets, there can only be one champion. That being said, there is always the chance that the next season could be better than the last. With that in mind, Future150 would like to introduce "The Next Step", a segment dedicated to breaking down each program's recruiting class as they bow out of the tournament; because there's always next season.
Damien Lillard may have made Weber State popular again, but this year's Wildcat squad was the real deal. Conference player of the year, Joel Bolomboy, may be graduating, but the cupboard is far from empty.
While the Wildcats have yet to land a 2016 commit, the future of the program looks bright due to their 2015 crop. Big man Jordan Dallas turned down high-major programs to play at Weber State, and could be the next conference player of the year at the program. Shooting guard Jeremiah Jefferson is another player who spurned bigger programs and will be an impact player next season as well.
It can't be overlooked that the Wildcats will return 8 of their top 9 scorers, so while Bolomboy's career may have come to a close tonight, Weber's State's dominence over the Big Sky certainly is not.
