Los Angeles, CA (Future150) -- The Big Dance is finally here and while everyone would like to cut down the nets, there can only be one champion. That being said, there is always the chance that the next season could be better than the last. With that in mind, Future150 would like to introduce "The Next Step", a segment dedicated to breaking down each program's recruitng class as they bow out of the tournament; because there's always next season.
The USC Trojans endured a heartbreaking loss to Providence in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to end their season. The good news is that the majority of this team will be back next season, with the additions of three young and promising prospects as well.
Coach Enfield has gained commitments from Jonah Matthews, De'Anthony Melton, and Harrison Henderson. Henderson may have the most upside out of the three, as he is a 6'10 F/C that has the ability to score from all three levels. He is also a fantastic rebounder, and doesn't often get outmuscled when fighting for position on the low post.
Melton is an athletic wing guard that should see most of his production come from slashing the lane and getting the other team into foul trouble. While Jonah Matthews is a solid 4-star prospect that can score from all three levels and has plenty to offer on the defensive side of the ball. It will be interesting to see if both of these guys can learn to co-exist with each other over the next couple seasons.
Trojan fans have plenty to look forward to as the 2016-17 season could be even more successful than this one.
