Cedar Falls, IA (Future150) -- The Big Dance is finally here and while everyone would like to cut down the nets, there can only be one champion. That being said, there is always the chance that the next season could be better than the last. With that in mind, Future150 would like to introduce "The Next Step", a segment dedicated to breaking down each program's recruiting class as they bow out of the tournament; because theres' always next season.
Northern Iowa had it's season end in heartbreaking fashion as they blew a twelve point lead with 34 seconds to go to Texas A&M and eventually lost in double overtime. What's the next step for the Panthers?
What may sting just as much as the loss to the Aggies is that the Panthers will be losing their terrific trio of Paul Jesperson, Wes Washpun, and Matt Bohannon.
The good news is that help is on the way, as UNI reeled in a three man class that can all put the ball in the basket. First off we have Juwan McCloud. McCloud is a sub-six footer, his elite ball-handling and speed will help him create plays as the Panthers future PG.
Next up is Future150 Alumni Isaiah Brown out of Flower Mound, Texas. The wing guard has good size for the D1 level at 6'6 and 170 pounds. His ability to create space with his ball-handling and overall defense may be his best attributes. He will have a chance to be really special if he continues to improve.
Last but certainly not least, Tanner Lohaus. Tanner is the younger brother of current Panther, Wyatt. Like his brother, Tanner can fill it up from deep, and has extremely good court vision to be considered more of a SG or SF.
Keep your eye on the Panthers as this trio could be the new deadly mid-major combonation in a few more years.
