College Park, MD (Future150) -- The Big Dance is finally here and while everyone would like to cut down the nets, there can only be one champion. That being said, there is always the chance that the next season could be better than the last. With that in mind, Future150 would like to introduce "The Next Step", a segment dedicated to breaking down each program's recruiting class as they bow out of the tournament; because theres' always next season.

Maryland took down South Dakota State and Hawaii to get to the Sweet 16, but couldn't get past the overall #1 seed Kansas Jayhawks. What's the next step for the Terps?

Maryland loses Rasheed Suliamon, and Jake Layman to graduation while Diamond Stone and Melo Trimble are very likely possibilities to exit school early and enter their name into the NBA Draft.

If this does happen next seasons team will likely be led by Robert Carter, and Jared Nickens and the three man recruiting class that Coach Turgeon is bringing in next season consisting of Anthony CowanKevin Huerter, and Micah Thomas

The headline of this class is Cowan, who is a PG from Maryland. Cowan is a very elite ball-handler and has fantastic athleticism for a sub six foot player. His ability to create plays and make the players around him better will be something the Terps welcome with open arms. Especially if Melo Trimble decides to test the NBA waters.

The second third of this class is Kevin Huerter who is a big time scoring guard from Clifton Park, New York. Huerter's overall feel for the game and excellent shooting stroke should fit very well in Mark Turgeon's system. If he can improve defensively and become a three level scorer, he could be special.

Last but not least is Future150 Alum Micah Thomas. Thomas is a defensive minded three man that has good size and length. He can rebound and finish above the rim with ease. His high motor and constant energy level will help him excel at the next level.

Continue to keep an eye on Maryland headlines, if Stone or Tremble decides to return it automatically bumps the Terps into elite level again next season.
