Memphis, TN (Future150) -- As fast as elite point guard Chris Chiozza picked up big-time offers this spring with his scintilating play, he just as quickly has decided to end his recruitment.
He will be a Florida Gator in 2014.
The 5'11" jet picked Billy Donovan's program over the Ohio State Buckeyes, ending his recruitment just after receiving offers from elite programs from across the country with a strong spring of basketball.
"I picked Florida because they have a great history with small guards, as well as the competition level in the SEC," he told Jason Pratt, Sr. Recruting Analyst of Future150, after the announcement at White Station High School.
The Team Thad lead guard is also excited about what awaits him in Gainesville.
"It seems like the right fit for me, especially with me hopefully getting a chance to play with Kasey Hill in the backcourt when I get there."
While his hectic recruitment is now over, Chris knows that the work has just begun for him.
"For the rest of the summer and next year, I'm going to be working on getting stronger and becoming a more vocal leader, as well as a leader in general on the floor," he said.
Before he packs his bags for the Sunshine State, however, he knows there is more business to be handled in Memphis next winter.
"Me and Leron are going to get a ring next season at White Station," he matter-of-factly told Future150.
I couldn't think of a better parting gift for the city that raised the elite point guard.
