Richmond, VA (Future150) -- Five years from now, we may all look back at tonight and say this is when VCU began to make the transition to an annual top 15 program in the country. After being a prominent mid-major program for the past decade, including a run to the final four and landing a top 100 commit in the class of 2012, the Rams have landed a landmark recruit.
Terry Larrier has flourished over the past year, drawing interest from some of the top programs around the country. While bigger schools came after Larrier hard, he ultimately opted to go to a school that had be recruiting him for awhile. He is a perfect fit for Shaka Smart's HAVOC system. With incredible length, versatility, and quickness; Terry is in position to have a major impact for the Rams.
There is already some talk that he has the chance to be a future pro one day, and playing in a system that accentuates his strengths will only help him achieve his dream of playing in the league. Over the summer, he spoke at length about how he felt the fit with the school and staff drew him to VCU.
After missing out on last year's big riser in Marcus Lee, landing Larrier is a signal to programs around the country: VCU is here to stay. As long as Shaka Smart is at the helm, the Rams will be a force to reckon with, and Terry Larrier is their next star.
Comments:
It is RIDICULOUS how much Ram pride there is (and hass been for quite some time) in RVa and among Alumni worldwide.
