Buffalo, NY (Future150) -- New York is always known for producing exciting, tough-nosed floor generals. It seems like we may have found the next very talented lead guard from the Empire State in 2021 PG Tariq Eubanks of Tapestry Charter (NY). Expected to be the starting point guard on his varsity squad, he's ready to embrace his role.
"I'm the floor general and I've got a lot of responsibilities to handle on and off the court," Eubanks said. "So my role this year is really big."
Already seeing some early interest from St. Bonaventure and West Virginia, it's clear that he is extremely talented. A blur in the open floor, Eubanks knows how to control the pace of the game and is always making the right decision when the ball is in his hands. He certainly will not back down from any high pressure situatuion when he's on the floor as he plays with great poise for a freshman guard.
"I like to model my game after Collin Sexton and Kyrie Irving," Eubanks said.
His electric ball-handling abilities and scoring confidence in clutch situations make it easy to see why he emulates those guys. While he's just a freshman and still has plenty of kinks to work out in his game, there is no question that he is talented enough to play division one college basketball in the future.
