High Point, NC (Future150) -- Theo Pinson, Future150's #15 prospect in the 2014 class, has decided to stay in his home state and attend the University of North Carolina.
The 6-foot-5 small forward, who is rated as the sixth best prospect in the country at his position, chose the Tar Heels over Indiana, Duke, Georgetown, and Louisville in a ceremony at his high school, Wesleyan Christian Academy.
The long and athletic Pinson is a matchup nightmare who could be a star in Chapel Hill once he fine-tunes his jump shot. He is already an established defender who will make life miserable for offensive stars in the ACC for the duration of his career.
He joins fellow top 25 stars Justin Jackson (#17) and Joel Berry (#22) in North Carolina's 2014 class.
The athletic wing averaged 13 points, four rebounds, and three assists per game last season, leading his team to a N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association Class 3-A state championship.
He was also voted as an all-state performer and is a strong candidate to be a McDonald's All-American by next spring.
