Trenton, NJ (Future150) -- Syracuse added a gigantic piece of their 2015 class puzzle on Friday afternoon with the commitment of Trenton Catholic (NJ) shooting guard Malachi Richardson.
The 6-foot-5 wing is one of the best scorers in the country, regardless of class.
He has the body of a pro, which is able to withstand contact on his aggressive drives to the rim, where he is crafty when finishing plays.
However, his calling card is his ability to rack up baskets from the outside using his lethal jumper. Not only is he a sniper from both mid-range and 3-point range, but he is also able to create his own jumper off-the-dribble.
The #17 prospect in the country is the second nationally ranked prospect to pledge to the Orange in 2015, joining New York forward Tyler Lydon (#74).
Richardson chose Syracuse over scholarship offers from Arizona, Indiana, Rutgers, UConn and Villanova.
