Gastonia, NC (Future150) -- 2019 SG Perez Bowser of Charlotte United Christian (NC) had a very productive summer running with Upward Stars - Charlotte. He earned an invite to Future150's Summit Camp, an elite camp for rising sophomore's and junior's, and had a great showing, just barely missing the all-star game.
With the high school season quickly approaching and the summer behind us, Bowser proved he has the potential to be a very productive guard at the next level and has now has some lofty expectations heading into his junior year.
"I'm looking forward to working as hard as I ever have these next six months," Bowser said. "Also, I need to work on my mid-range game, ball-handling, and all around defense," he went on to say.
It's easy to see that he has the potential to extend his basketball career beyond high school, but right now it's still hard to determine at what level. Right now he is a big time threat from deep, with great leadership skills and rebounding abilities for a guard standing nearly 6'1". His on-ball defense is solid, but could use some work on his help-side, along with a more versatile scoring skill set, as he explained.
"I feel like I'm an excellent combo guard that can run the team like a point guard, and also step out and be a knock down shooting guard," Bowser said when asked what he thinks he could offer at the next level. "I have the ability to continually put pressure on the defense, along with the ability to create plenty of oppurtunities for my teammates and myself," he continued on.
Right now Bowser has seen some interest from DII programs such as Lees-McRae, Lincoln Memorial, and Brevard College. Heading forward it will be interesting to see if he stays in the DII category or bumps himself up into a low-major prospect. It's a tough leap to make but he's more than capable of doing so.
Stay locked in with Future150 as we continue to track Bowser's recruitment process as well as his progress throughout his junior year!
