Rock Hill, SC (Future150) -- 2018 6'6" SF Jaron Williams of York Prep (SC) has had a huge summer with Upward Stars - York County. One of those breakout performances came at Future150's Main Event Charlotte Tournament not too long ago, in which he picked up an offer from South Carolina State not long after.

Coming into the summer as a virtually unknown prospect in the southeast, Williams has definitely made his case as one of the best 2018's in his state as he heads into his senior season.

Holding offers from Alcorn State, Delaware State, Hampton, Longwood, Presbyterian, South Carolina State, Wingate (DII), and Winthrop, he is a no-brainer DII/LM prospect. Williams has also seen coaches from Appalachian State, Radford, UNC-Charlotte, and Wofford check him out recently.

"Longwood, Winthrop, and Wofford," Williams said when asked which schools are recruiting him the hardest right now.

Even though Wofford has yet to offer him, they have been following him very closely throughout the last live period along with the Longwood and Winthrop staff as well.

Williams isn't a crazy athletic or physically imposing 6'6" wing, but what makes him stand out to division one coaches is his unselfishness and basketball IQ, among other things.

"My competitiveness," Williams said when asked about why he thinks his game will translate to the next level. "...And I (break down) defenses, which will allow me to get my other teammates involved."

As a rising senior the time to make a decision in his recruitment is growing near, but he still has time to think things over and see how they play out.

"I'm just looking for a great fit that plays my type of game," Williams said. "And see that the coaches believe in me and want to push me for the next level."

Sounds like he has a good grip on everything right now, as things will only be getting better from here for the Rock Hill native.

Stay locked in with Future150 as we continue to track Williams recruitment process and his progression during his upcoming senior year at York Prep.
