Flagstaff, AZ (Future150) -- Too often, young players from small schools in rural parts of the country complain about not being seen by coaches and scouts.
Coconino High School (AZ) senior forward Andy Bonner is not one of those players. Bonner is a 6’5 small forward who helped lead his team to a 21-7 record and an appearance in the Arizona state playoffs. The lefty averaged 15 points, seven rebounds and over a steal a game on the season.
The rising senior is a skilled post with good size and a quick first step. He is crafty in the paint, and has range out to the three-point line. Yesterday, Andy was named to an Arizona Division II Section II first team selection.
Bonner currently holds offers from Colorado Christian University and Jamestown College. He is also receiving heavy interest from Western New Mexico, Montana State-Billings and Cal State - Monterrey Bay.
Bonner also said that even though his season is over, new programs are reaching out to him weekly. The senior forward currently has no favorite school, but would like to play an in up-tempo offense. He is also looking for a program that can help him grow as a player and person; and he notes that connecting to the coaching staff is extremely important to him.
