Montgomery, AL (Future150) -- Alabama State will be adding another Rogers to the program in the coming days.
This morning, 2014 Brewbaker Tech (Ala.) combo guard Steve Rogers, Jr. announced his intentions to stay home and commit to Alabama State.
The 6-foot-1 scorer will join his father, Steve Rogers, who is an assistant under Lewis Jackson at the school.
"It was a good situation for me," he told Future150.com. "My dad is an assistant there and is a legend at the school. He is the third leading scorer in the program's history."
"I have support from all the coaches and fans there. I know the program the best and I feel at home there."
The younger Rogers made quite an imprint in Montgomery this season, as he lead the state in scoring with 32 points per game.
Alabama State is getting a talented shooter and scorer with Rogers. He showcased his offensive abilities in the fall at 2013 Ranked & Targeted Exposure Camp in Montgomery.
Rogers chose the Hornets over an offer from Savannah State, along with interest from Mississippi Valley State, Longwood, and Boston University.
