Birmingham, AL (Future150) -- The Future150 Birmingham Battleground was back again for the 4th year in a row and teams from 6 different states were on hand.  The competition ranged from the classes 2019-2024. The 13U Division featured some young and very talented player with a ton of upside.

The 13U Championship game featured the Steel City Gators and the Bainbridge Shockers.  The game was fast-paced and full of energy as it was close at halftime.  The Gators came out on fire and applied their press where they were able to score in bunches. The up-tempo play proved to be too much as the Steel City Gators take home the title 52-30.

Tournament MVP: PG Terry Coner Jr. (Steel City Gators)

PF KJ Cochran (Bainbridge Shockers)
PG Montez Dunson (Steel City Gators)
SF Marquis Seaberry (West Tenn Elite)
SG Chaz Oatis (Elite Heat)

Terry Coner Jr.- PG 2023 (Steel City Gators) Coner Jr. is clearly the team leader on the team.  His overall play makes his team go on both ends of the floor.  Scoring on all three levels and making plays for his teammates makes him a tough guard.  Feel for the game, Vocal leader, and making the correct plays all stood out as his team took home the championship. #Winner

KJ Cochran- PF 2023 (Bainbridge Shockers) Cochran is an elite athlete with a nice frame.  His game around the basket is beyond his years.  He loves catching the ball on the block and showed a variety of moves with his back to the basket.  Rebounding on both ends of the floor is where he made a living this past weekend.  He has a ton of upside to his game and as he develops his overall skill, look out! #Competitor

Chaz Oatis- SG 2023 (Elite Heat) Oatis had a nice tournament this past weekend averaging 11 points and 4 assists.  This wing player does most of his scoring in transition and does it using his speed and quickness.  He proved time and time again if you leave him open he can get to the rim and knock down shots.  Coaches love players like him due to you know what you get at all times. #Hungry

Montez Dunson- PG 2023 (Steel City Gators) Dunson is one of the faster players we saw this past weekend in the division.  His overall speed and first step make him hard to stop in transition and the half court.  He has quick hands, loves getting steals and can score from all over the floor.  His overall defense, scoring on the fastbreak and being a team leader is what stood out this weekend.  #Champion

Marquis Seaberry- SF 2023 (West Tenn Elite) Seaberry was a scoring machine all weekend long. He averaged 17.5 points and 7 rebounds on the weekend.  His ability to break his defender down off the dribble from the wing made him a tough guard.  Getting steals, rebounding on the offensive glass and making plays are all things that stand out when you watch him play. #Scorer

Kenneth Bell- SG 2023 (Chattanooga Elite) Bell was one of the better athletes we saw in the division.  He has a good body, strong and loves attacking the rim on the fastbreak.  His overall speed and first step burst make him hard to guard in the half court.  His body allows him to absorb contact and still finish at the rim. #Slasher

Louie Jordan- SG 2023 (Tuscaloosa Oynx) Jordan plays hard at all times and his teammates feed off his energy.  He has the quickness and speed to guard both guard positions.  After a rebound, he loves to start the break and at times he goes coast to coast.  Scoring off the bounce is what he does best and if you leave him open he proved he can make shots as well.  #ShotMaker
