Houston, TX (Future150) -- Future150 was back in Texas for the 5th time this year at the Houston Battleground touranment looking for more talent.  The 13U division included teams from Mississippi and Texas.

The championship game was a rematch of a pool play game between the Gulf Coast Heat and RL9.  In the first meeting the Heat took the game 49-34.  The champhip game was even more competitive with the Heat jumping out to a fast start.  RL9 kept its composure and made a huge run to get back in the game. Javeyon Davenport of RL9 lead the way with 13 points and 6 rebounds as they went on to win the game 37-35.

Tournament MVP: 2023 SG, Kameron Burton (RL9)

All Touranment Team:

SG Micah Jones- (Gulf Coast Heat)
PG Aedan - (Hyperfuse Wolfpack)
SG Khalil McClain- (RL9)
SG Joshua Ugbaja- (TBT Sports Disciples)

Micah Jones- 2023 SG, (Gulf Coast Heat) Jones plays hard on both ends of the floor and can score in transition. He did most of his damage on the fastbreak getting to the rim at will. His ablility to make shots and play solid on ball defense helped his team to the championship game.  He averaged 11 points and 4 assists per game.  Solid overall performance on Saturday.

Joshua Ugbaja- 2023 SF, (TBT Sports Disciples) Ugbaja had a huge tournament scoring wise averaging 13.5 points per game and 7 rebounds. He was scoring on all three levels especially in the paint when getting offensive rebounds. He scored 23 points in a big win Friday night during pool play.

Kameron Burton- SG 2022, (RL9) Burton is a beast in the paint. He has a soft touch and can knock down the mid range jumper. Footwork, nice hands and putting the ball on the floor are things that stand out when you watch him play. The big bodied wing moves really well for someone his size and can knock down the three ball with consistency. Leading the tournament in scoring, Burton takes home MVP honors for the tournament.

Aedan Lewis - 2024 PG, (Hyperfuse Wolfpack)  He had a nice tournament averaging 9 points and 4 assists per game in the tournament. He showed good court vision in both the half and full courts.  Shooting from the mid range, on ball defense and knocking down the three ball are things he does well when he's on the court.  Solid performance on the weekend..

Devonie Bailey- 2024 C, (Gulf Coast Heat) Baily was one of the better rebounder in the division.  He loves getting a offensive rebound and scoring on the put back. His length and long arms made him a force blocking shots as his opponent attacked the paint. A high motor, active hands and a decent jumper are all things that made him a standout on the weekend.

Khalil McClain- 2023 SG, (RL9) McClain is a glue guy who does everything well for his team.  Consistency, on ball defense and the ability to make plays for himself as well as others are all things that stand out.  He averaged 6.5 points 6 rebounds and 3 steals per game. Coaches love having a play like this on their team due to you know what you get every game.  His play helped his team have a nice come back in the championship game to get the win.
