Fort Worth, TX (Future150) -- Class of 2019 combo forward Grant Jones of Chisholm Trail High School (TX) made his presence known at multiple Future150 Camps this past summer. Already carrying a Texas-San Antonio offer, Future150 checked in with Jones to see how his sophomore year has been going and what is the latest on his recruitment.
"So far the season has been going good. We're 19-4 on the year," Jones said regarding his sophomore season. "I've been working with my D-League trainer on improving my ball-handling and my explosiveness."
Jones stands at a legit 6'9" and has a sweet shooting stroke that reaches beyond the three point line. He has definitely been working on improving the right things in his game. He has the size and skill set to be a productive three/four at the next level, but could turn into a matchup nightmare with improved handles and the ability to slash to the rim from the perimeter.
With college coaches noticing his high ceiling, Jones has seen a fair share of high-major interest recently.
"The recruitment process has been really fun lately," Jones said. "I've been seeing a lot of interest from Iowa, Wisconsin, Purdue, Illinois State, American, Missouri State, North Texas, Louisiana Tech, Pepperdine, and Rice."
As a sophomore, this is probably just the beginning for Jones. At this point in the recruitment process, it is always a good idea to get a better feel for these schools that are reaching out quite early.
"I'm going back to visit UTSA on February 2nd," Jones told Future150. "I'm also planning on a visit to Iowa, Illinois State, and Pepperdine soon."
Keep an eye open for the big man out of Fort Worth as he is poised for a really big AAU season. For now, stay locked in with Future150 as we continue to follow his progress on and off the court.
