Paterson, NJ (Future150) -- 2018 point guard Jahvon Quinerly has been a big name in recruiting circles for quite some time now, but things are starting to get more serious on that front.
The New Jersey native has proven to be one of the best prospects in the class of 2018 and is one the elite point guards. His ability to create scoring opportunities and manipulate defenses make him one of the most sought after floor generals nationally.
Seton Hall, Arizona, Villanova, UVA, Stanford, Xavier, Vandy, OSU, Cal and Syracuse are among his offers, while KU and Duke have begun to recruit him. Quinerly said he would like to visit the Blue Devils unofficially if they offered him.
Seton Hall, Arizona, Kansas, Villanova, Virginia, and Stanford have been the programs who are pushing the hardest in his recruitment to this point, something that is important to Quinerly as he's getting ready to take the next step in his recruitment. He is focused on learning more about the programs on his list and actually took an unofficial visit over the weekend.
"I like watching Villanova. I'll actually be at the game when they play Virginia. I like their playing style, they play together and they play hard. I like their coaching staff and I think I could fit in their system," he said on Saturday.
Quinerly will likely officially cut his list and start planning visits after the high school season is over. Chances are a local program will end up making that cut, as the Seton Hall Pirates are putting a lot of work into landing the Hudson Catholic product.
"They're telling me that I'm their top point guard priority right now. I talk with Coach Willard once or twice a week and they try to get me to come up there as much as I can get up there," said Quinerly.
As of right now, he will be on the Under Armour Circuit with Sports U for his final season. With a potential cut coming, it will be interesting to see which of the remaining programs continue to turn the heat up on him.
