Nashville, TN (Future150) -- Cole Harrison has had a pretty steady recruitment for the first three years of high school. However, as he is settling in for his senior year and basketball season approaching, things are heating up for the Tennessee big man.
Standing at 6-foot-10, Harrison has been able to land scholarship offers just on size alone. But he can play the game, too.
"I think I have a Kevin Love style of play," he began. "I play with a high IQ and I'm big, but I can play inside and out. I just try to take things from his game and apply it to mine."
Throughout his high school career, the big man has reeled in offers from Jacksonville, Tennessee Tech, Southeast Missouri State, and East Tennessee State. That is only the beginning, though.
"DePaul and Tulane have really shown a lot of interest lately. I would say those two are coming the hardest right now. DePaul has been in contact for a long time."
Dartmouth has also began to press hard, and they could get a visit in the near future.
"Dartmouth has really been pushing for an official visit. I want to head up there and get to DePaul, too. St. Joseph's is trying to set something up as well," he explained.
While he only holds low-major offers to this point, expect this big man to end up at a mid-major to high-major school when the dust settles.
His hard work and development has paid off in the past few months.
Comments:
ETSU is already considered a mid-major. See collegeinsider.com for a better discussion. (They run a mid-major poll, and sponsor a mid-major tournament.) ETSU nearly won the tournament two years ago, and had a “down” year last year (for them), but still finished in the top half of the league, made the league semifinals. Mercer won the mid-major tournament last year, and Belmont went to the show, with a decent performance there. The top half of the A-Sun is definitely mid-major. Ditto for the top half of most of the “other” conferences. If their RPI is consistently less than 200, how are they not “mid?”
your kidding right? this kid has trouble at the HS level.
