West Deptford, NJ (Future150) -- Each year, Pangos All-East Camp is the launching point for a number for talented prospects, or it's a place for returnees to showcase how much they've improved. Virginia Academy (VA) center Qudus Wahab fits into the latter category, as the big man used the camp to prove he has become one of the best at his position nationally.
Once considered to be fairly raw on the offensive end, Wahab returned and was scoring from 16 feet and in with relative ease. The big man still ran the floor very well and still proved to be the shot-blocker he was assumed to be when he first debuted in the states.
Playing with the Uncommon Bulls on the AAU circuit, he didn't get quite the love that some of his peers recieved this summer, but has used the fall to prove that he's more than deserving of his share. Helping him in his development is the ability to go against Vanderbilt commit Ejike Obinna every day in practice.
"Ejeke helps me stay serious and focused on the game. He really pushes me to get better. He goes 100% all of the time, so it forces me to do the same" said Wahab.
Clemson is the only offer as of this point, but Virginia, USC, SMU, Vanderbilt and Florida have all shown varying amounts of interest in the big man as well. He also took a visit to Virginia earlier this fall.
It's still early in his recruitment, but even more attention will surely pick up soon. After his perfomance this fall, it has become clear that he is one of the best centers in the country, and it's only a matter of time before colleges from coast to coast realize it.
