Richmond, VA (Future150) -- The commitments are seemingly coming fast and furious today. The first day of July saw Devon Hall commit to UVA and now the VCU Rams have garnered a commitment of their own.
2013 SG Jairus Lyles has decided to join the Rams just a day after they offered him. While Lyles was sought after and held high major offers he felt now was the time to close up his recruitment. In Lyles the Rams will great a super fast guard who can score in bunches. He should give them a major punch on the perimeter going forward despite standing at just 6-foot-1.
While some see him as more of a combo guard it is obvious he excels when he's off the ball and in a scoring role. He also held an offer from Oklahoma State and had serious interest from the likes of Miami, Georgetown, Rutgers, Seton Hall, N.C. State, Providence and others. Look for Lyles to flourish under Shaka Smart and VCU, who have had success with players like him before.
VCU has one more scholarship available for the 2013 class and have been involved with Marcus Lee, Kameron Williams, and Devin Williams. Look for the Rams to be a bit picky with their last spot. Landing any one of the three would be a major coup for the program as they enter their first year in the A-10
