Atlanta, GA (Future150) -- 2014 Paulding County (Ga.) big man Raasean Davis burst onto the scene at the Elite 32 in July, and heading into the last week of the July evaluation period, the big man courted several schools.
Those numbers only increased heading into school, as many high-major programs expressed interest in the 6-foot-7, 230-pound power forward.
Nevertheless, Kent State prevailed in his recruitment.
"Kent State was consistent with recruiting me," he told Future150.com. "They showed me a lot of love."
After visiting campus two weeks ago, the Georgia native was sold on his decision.
"After the visit, I felt like I bonded with the players good and I liked the coaching staff. The visit really sealed the deal for me."
Davis was also considering Hawaii, Mercer, Cincinnati, and Wichita State.
Kent State will be getting a wide body that will be productive in the post. Davis has high expectation for himself at the next level.
"I'm going to rebound, score, run the floor, the whole nine yards," he explained.
Davis is a three-star recruit according to Future150.
