Gibsonville, NC (Future150) -- During Senior night ceremonies at Eastern Guilford High School, 2015 point guard Quayson Williams decided to announce that he will be attending Virginia Military Institute to play college basketball.
Quayson picked up his offer from VMI on December 29, and now not even two months later, he has given them his verbal commitment. Williams is a 6-foot-1 point guard that has a sweet stroke from the three-point line and possesses great leadership skills as a floor general, which should translate over well to college once he enrolls at VMI.
The senior has been putting up gaudy numbers so far this season with averages of 22 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals per game. He is proficient from the field as well, shooting 45 percent from deep and 54 percent on two point field goal attempts. He has led his team to an 18-5 record so far this year, including 11-4 in conference play.
Quayson hasn't been noticed much on the national stage so far this season but has certaintly been gaining attention from basketball analysts in North Carolina, as most would tell you that Williams has put himself in the conversation when speaking on some of the best true point guards in the state.
Williams had taken a visit to VMI on January 24 and that looks like it helped him tremendously with his decision to bring his talents to Lexington, Virginia next season.
