Huntersville, NC (Future150) -- Lots of great players have come from the state of North Carolina.
Players like John Wall, Rashad McCants, and Chris Paul have all originated from the state of North Carolina and have left their own imprint on basketball.
Qon Murphy out of Huntersville, North Carolina is trying to be the next best thing out of that state.
He stands at 6-foot-2 already and he is just now going into the 7th grade. He can nearly do it all on the basketball court.
Murphy is able to handle the ball well for his size, can post-up smaller defenders, and he scores every which way possible; by hitting a long three or driving the lane, finishing hard at the rim for two point basket.
This young guard is really motivated to playing well and doing the extra work to help improve his game.
“I’m looking to improve on moving around the court without the ball,” Murphy explained. “My dad stresses moving without the ball, because it will make it harder for my opponents to defend me and it will help me get open for easier shots.”
Murphy knows putting in hard work now, is what will result in high rewards in the future. One thing he wants to focus on is skill and he knows already what he would like major in, when he gets to college.
“I would like to major in Math or Hotel Restaurant Management, I guess you would say Hospitality Management,” he provided. “I want to run a restaurant.”
His head is definitely on straight and he knows what he wants to do.
As of know the young player, just plans on continuing to work on his craft by attending as many camps and tournaments as possible. His future is surely bright.
