Cornelius, NC (Future150) -- Qon Murphy is a 2018 SG out of Cornelius, North Carolina that plays at Hough high school. His Sophomore season has seen his production skyrocket and college coaches are starting to attend his games and show that they are very interested in his talents.
"Charlotte, Charleston, East Carolina, NC State, and Tennessee have all been showing interest lately," Murphy said.
The Future150 Alumni is a very fun player to watch as he is a strong bodied two guard that can fill the statsheet up in a heartbeat. He has seemingly improved since his freshman season which is why more schools are starting to keep tabs on him.
"During the offseason I worked on my shooting, and my ball handling, along with my abilities to score off the dribble," Murphy said.
Murphy has always been a good scorer, but he has improved his shot selection and overall IQ tremendously. His on ball defense is smothering, and he knows how to cause his opponent to turn the ball over.
"(Qon) is becoming a better all around basketball player on both ends of the floor," Said Murphy's high school coach, Coach Grube. "His defensive engagement is improving, and he is becoming more efficient on offense by taking better shots and getting to the free throw line."
Already seeing looks from high major schools as a Sophomore usually spells success. With the kind of player Murphy is, his situation will probably be no different.
"What I like about his chances of success in college is his size at the guard position with the abilities to shoot it and finish inside the paint," Said Coach Grube. "Not to mention he has a very good basketball IQ."
Continue to follow along with Future150 as we continue to track the progress of Murphy and other Future150 Alumni's across the country.
