Dallas, TX (Future150) -- Future150 was back in Texas at the Primetime Sports AAU Super Regionals in Dallas this past weekend. There was talent in all age groups and here are just a few of the players that performed well this past weekend.
Gabe Thibodeaux- 2018, SG - ETX Titans: Gabe is the younger brother of Future150 Alum and UTSA freshman Garrett Thibodeaux. He stands close to 6'2 -6'3 and he shoots the ball effectively from the perimeter. Thibodeaux has solid ball handling skills and can score off the dribble from time to time.
Jaddai Henry- 2021, SF - Mighty Kings: Henry Is about 6'2 and he can play multiple positions. Sometimes he ran point guard and sometimes he played in the post. His versatility also comes on defense as he can matchup well against guards and posts. We have him listed as a small forward but he can do things that are required in other positions.
Myson Huff- 2021, SG - Mighty Kings: Huff is a strong scorer that prefers to drive in the lane and score. The Mighty King's fast offense allows him to get open looks from inside and out. He can get a little out of control with the ball but Huff seems to be a high volume scorer that is hard to guard when he is hot.
Walker Jackson- 2019, CF - Mansfield Trojans: Jackson looks to be 6’2, maybe closer to 6’3 and the forward showed good enough ball-handling abilities to score from the perimeter off drives. Jackson needs to work on his jump-shot but his speed and athleticism allows him to drive by defenders and score inside. If he can polish his skill-set he can have a bright future.
Mekhai Pope- 2020, CG -Basketball Means More (BMM): Pope showed that he can shoot the ball from three point range efficiently. In zones he is vital because he spaces the floor and makes the defense extend more than normal. He can run point guard from time to time but it seems he is more comfortable playing shooting guard. He may turn out to be a point guard in the future because he has good vision on passes, but right now he is more efficient for his team when he is playing off the ball.
Brandon Lawrence- 2020, PG - Basketball Means More (BMM): Lawrence is a skilled guard that plays patiently. He sees the floor well and can knock down three pointers when uncontested. Lawrence is a nice prospect for 2020 and plays for a good BMM team.
Kyle Macadam- 2018, PF - Xpress: Macadam is about 6’5 – 6’6 and he does a good job inside on offense and defense. The staff likes his ability to score from the high post, but he is more effective in the paint. Macadam needs to work on being more explosive but he showed a good skillset that he can really build upon.
Omari Abor- 2022, CF- D1- Premier 2022: Abor has good size and he uses it to his advantage. He isn’t very athletic but he can get off the floor quick and that helps him on both sides of the glass. He has the ability to shoot from mid-range and he can make baskets inside while fighting through contact. Abor has potential to be a special talent.
Drew Steffe- 2023, SG - D1- Premier 2022: Steffe can shoot the ball very well. For a fifth grader playing two grades up, he looked like he belonged. If he is able to get his shot off with even small space, there is a good chance it is going in. He is a catch and shoot type of player right now but he is dangerous with his feet is set.
