Dallas, TX (Future150) -- Sunday evening marked the end of the 2014 PrimeTime Sports Nationals, where champions were crowned in the 17U, 16U & 15U divisions...
In 15U action, Bears Basketball beat CMB Assault 44-39 to capture the title. In 16U action, Team Texas Blue took down the San Antonio Tarheels by a score of 59-52 & in the 17U title game, Texas Lightning took down PEBB Select 64-61. Here are some of the standouts from the last day of nationals:
Josh Anderson, 2017 SG, Baton Rouge Blazers: The Madison Prep (LA) wing continued to impress Future150 staff on Sunday, displaying impressive athleticism and a great natural feel for the game. He plays a laid back game, mostly because he is so immensely talented that the game comes easy to him. A refined jump shot will take his game to the highest level.
Brandon Kimble, 2016 F, Mississippi Magic: Right now, the 6-foot-5 combination forward is all arms and legs, but he is intriguing due to his ability to blossom down the line. He has skills that could possbily translate to the wing, although right now he is more of a power forward. There's a very high ceiling for the Indianola Academy (MS) product.
Devontae Patterson, 2016 SF, Texas Lightning: Again it was the 6-foot-5 wing making things look easy for his team on Sunday. What impressed, in particular, was his court vision and willingness to rebound the basketball, which his team needed badly due to their lack of height. He's a kid who values winning, which shouldn't be lost any anyone.
Bradley Schmid, 2016 PG, Texas Avengers: The Future150 Camp alumni has improved since last fall and was running his team well throughout the entire weekend. He's a scoring guard who can get baskets by slashing to the bucket or knocking down the deep jumper.
Jamel Robinson, 2017 SF, Baton Rouge Blazers: Another standout from the Baton Rouge Blazers & Madison Prep (LA) was the bruising 6-foot-2 small forward, who had a breakout game on Sunday. He was relentless in his attacks to the rim, where he converted many of his attempts. He also showcased a solid mid-range jump shot & is a physical defender. Very good 2017 prospect to keep tabs on.
Dedrick Richmond, 2015 SF, L.C. Stars: The Washington-Marion (LA) product has all the looks of a prospect, and now it's a matter of putting his skills together in order to become a college recruit. He has good ability when it comes to slashing to the basket, he rebounds well on both ends, and plays with a high motor as well. Added perimeter skills will benefit him greatly.
