Future150 attended the PrimeTime Sports 2016 EYB Classic in Dallas Texas. Our staff checked out a lot of teams and players and Future150 left impressed with the level of intensity these guys played with. A number of players planted themselves firmly on the radar with the performaces they turned in this weekend:
Kerrick Wilson, 2018 CG, Suns: Wilson had one of the better performances of day one. His solid ball handling skills and shooting ability helped guide his Suns team to the victory. Wilson showcased his shooting ability by knocking down long threes and smooth mid range pull-ups.
Jarius Roberson, 2017 CF, Dallas Mustangs: Roberson played really well on day one. He is a long, versatile forward who can knock down the three point shot and work the paint. Roberson used his size and strength to cause defensive match-ups. He rebounded well on both ends of the floor and was a solid defender as well.
Xavier Waggoner, 2017 CF, WF Timberwolves: Waggoner had a good first day thanks to his explosiveness and quick second jump which gave him advantages on rebounds and blocks. Waggoner stretched the floor with his ability to knock down the 15 footer.
DJ Brooks, 2018 SG, Dallas Hoyas: Brooks led his team all weekend with his natural ability to score the ball. He used his strength and quickness to beat the defender. He made tough finishes around the rim with either hand all weekend. Brooks is a tough scrappy guard who will put his team on his back to guide them to a victory.
Elijah Long, 2016 SG, HTC Elite: Long is a crafty lefty who can beat his man off the dribble or knock down the three. it was impressive how he used his footwork to confuse the defense, he displayed the ability to use step backs, euro-steps, and crossovers very well in order to get his shot off. .
Mason Dukes, 2018 PF, Xpress Sports: Dukes played a big role this weekend. He gave the defenses issues with his ability to score in the post as well as the perimeter. Dukes was really effective when used as the screen man on the pick and roll; he was able to mix it up with either knocking down the three or rolling to the basket.
KJ Harris, 2017 PG, Texas Elite: Harris used his strength and quickness to set teammates up for open looks which were often easy buckets. He handled the ball really well all weekend despite pressure for 94 feet. Future150 would describe Harris as an unselfish solid guard who gets the job done on both ends of the floor.
Victor Salcido, 2018 PG, DREAM: Salcido handled the ball really well this weekend and displayed his true point guard skills. He broke down the defense and forced them to help and once he got the help he dropped it off for easy lay ups.
Caden McKenzie, 2021 CG, Gulf Coast Magic: He had a strong showing on day one, as he played up with the 2020 group. Caden showcased his long range shooting; he shot the ball from three very well. His ability to handle and distribute the ball to open teammates really helped his team.
Trey Peterson, 2017 SG, Texas Elite DJH5: Peterson is an offensive threat who can score points on all three levels. Whether it was getting to the rim or knocking down jumpers, he put points on the board consistently.
