Dallas, TX (Future150) -- Future150 takes a look at the top performances on Championship Sunday for Primetime Sports Tournament in Dallas which had some high level middle school games.
Future150 camp alumni and 2019 guard JaMarcus Caldwell of Dream Team played both the eighth grade and high school divisions this weekend and he showcased his quickness and floor management. A very tough point guard that does not back down from bigger athletes.
His teammate Kevante Harris (2018) constantly gets in the lane. With a nice and quick crossover to get past his defender, once Harris gets into the lane the help defender is in a tough situation. Does he commit? Harris scores well with a floater or dishes it off to the post if the help is too heavy.
Got Skills post Malik Wooley is a stretch post that is efficient in the high post. He has improved since the last time Future150 saw him and now has stretched his game to the three point line.
Dream Team Basketball, which is a program separate from the other Dream Team with Caldwell, got second place in the eighth grade division. They had a trio of players that showed out with 2019 guards Blair Conwight, Khalil Smiley and forward DK Blaylock.
Smiley loves to attack the basket and scores inside efficiently; Conwright is a high volume scorer and passes the ball very well in transition. He hit clutch shots against the Texas Titans to give his team a chance to win.
Blaylock is an athletic forward with solid handles that scores well inside. His mid-range game is good when left open and can shoot the three ball from time to time.
Titans, who won the HypeSports Tournament in March, got the trophy again on Sunday with clutch performances from 2020 guard Mike Miles, forward Cade Cunningham, and post Kylon Owens.
Althuogh raw on the offensive side of the ball, Owens is a beast on the defensive side. He blocks shots and rebounds efficiently. Also, he was key on stops the Titans had against Dream Team Basketball.
Miles ran the show and got the offense set up. He hit must-needed threes and handled heavy on-ball pressure all Sunday.
Cunningham, who is the MVP of the day was the main offensive option for the Titans when they needed a bucket. He was coming off cross post screens and scoring off mismatches, playing the perimeter and able to get to the lane and score or draw a foul. Cunningham has the ability to take over a game when he needs to.
