Dallas, TX (Future150) -- PrimeTime Sports Nationals got under way today with teams competing in pool play. Tons of new faces and talented players looked to break out and prove themselves on the national scene.  The 7th and 8th grade divisions saw a number of big performances on Day 1.

Here are the top performers from 8th grade division.

Tre Jones- CF, 2019 (PYF):  Jones is a smooth lefty who loves scoring off of missed shots. His overall strenght allows him to finish through contact and finish a number of and-ones. He was highly effective rebounding the ball on both ends of the floor. He is definitely one of the better shot blockers in the 8th grade division and his mere presence changed the game on the defensive end.

Kadyn Roach- SG, 2019 (Arkansas Blaze): Roach is a big bodied guard who loves using his size to impose his will on the defender. He is a tenacious on ball defender and gets ton of steals which lead to easy baskets for his teammates.  His rebounding ability from the wing position was the best we saw on Thursday.  His motor never stops and he never gives up on a play.

Jaylen Williams- SF, 2019 (Katy Shooting Stars): Williams is a familiar face to the Future150 staff and his consistent play is what stands out.  He is a glue guy that makes his team better by him just being on the floor.  Williams finds a way to score the ball at all three levels.  As he gets stronger and becomes more athletic, his game should go to the next level.

Reggie Gause- SG, 2020 (Nola 23): Guase is long, wiry and a good athlete.  His frame fits his skill and you can tell he has all the intangebles to be a great player.  The lefty has a nice stroke from both mid and long range.  He loves scoring in transition and has the court vision to create easy scoring opportunites for his teammates as well.

Tyrese Solomon- PG, 2019 (Arkansas Blizzard): Solomon was one of the more consistent point guards we saw today in Day 1 of pool play.  He was causing havoc on defense, getting steal after steal. In the final 15 seconds of the game, he took a risk, double teaming the ball-handler and got the game winning steal and lay up.

Jeremiah Jones- PG, 2020 (Arkansas Soldierz):  Jeremiah was in attack mode from beginning to the end.  He’s a tough guard that loves to get in the lane where he can finish.  He was the catalyst to get the soldierz going.

Colleen McCade- PG, 2020 (Forney Knight): The Forney Knights had a tough game right out of the gate against a tough Texas Titans team that is loaded with size and talent.  Though the game wasn’t their best Colleen found ways to stand out and compete.  Colleen ended the game in double figures with 10 points.  He showed the ability to create space off the dribble to get his shot off on several occasions.  Also was able to get into the lane and make a few plays.

Cade Cunningham- CF, 2020 (Texas Titans):  Cade is one of the more polished kids we’ve seen in the 2020 class nationally.  At 6-foot-3 with skill, Cunningham is able to cause match-up problems for smaller players with his size.  If the opponent is as big as him or bigger his ability to put the ball on the floor puts them at a disadvantage. While he didn't shoot the ball a ton, the mechanics are in place for him to be a servicable shooter.

Kylon Owens- C, 2020 (Texas Titans):  Kylon was a force in the paint.  At 6-foot-5, 180 pounds,  he moved very well and got up the floor swiftly.  He rebounded anything in his vicinity and displayed soft touch on the offensive end.  He’s definitely a prospect to keep an eye on.

J.D. Winda- PG, 2020 (Arkansas Sharpshooters): J.D.’s a physical scoring point guard that used his athleticism to score.  His football frame and toughness helps make him a very tough defender to get by with his lateral quickness and strength.

Davonte Davis- PG, 2020 (Arkansas Wings):  Davonte is one of the usual faces on the national scene.  Future150 saw him dominate last year playing with the 2019 class and he’s back to his usual ways playing with his respective 2020 class.  He finished his last game with an easy 20 point performance.  He has an elite handle that allows him to get wherever he wants on the floor.  He plays older than his years and looks poised to potentially break into the rankings.
