PrimeTime Nationals 14U: Jay Wilson Dominant

Dallas, TX (Future150) -- Thursday kicked off action at the 2016 PrimeTime Nationals, and there were several 2020 prospects who stood out to Future150 staff. Below are the standouts form the first day of action, with several players showing that they have a bright future in the game. No prospect stood out more to staff than Texas wing Jay Wilson. 

Jay Wilson, 2020 SF, Team Texas Shooters (TX): The 6'5" wing is not only a physically mature prospect, but he has a ton of skill as well. He showed off his explosive transition game, as well as his ability to score the basketball on all three levels. Expect to see him in the updated national rankings in our release in the coming weeks.

Stan Dantzler, 2020 PF, LA Thunder (LA): Dantzler is a long, wiry prospect who rebounds at an elite level. His presence on the defensive end of the floor keeps his opponent from dribble-driving to the rim. His offensive game consists of finishing at the rim on the fast break and put backs on the offensive glass. The upside to his game is there, and as he continues to develop, look out.

Quatarious Jones, 2020 SF/PF, Monroe Elite (LA): Maybe the bounciest prospect in the gym today was the 6'3" forward. He simply could not be stopped around the rim, mostly in part to his ability to rise over the defense. He was also a force on the boards because of his leaping ability, and with improved perimeter skills, should become a very good high school player from the get-go.

Detrick Reeves, 2020 SG, NEA Elite (AR): Reeves was the best pure shooter we saw today. He was knocking down shots from both long and short range. He has a good feel for the game and just knows how to play. The ability to score on all three levels makes him hard to stop when he has the ball in his hands. His team feeds off his energy and he shows the ability to be a great leader.

Jason Butler, 2020 PG, Lake City Stars (LA): Butler is extremely quick in the open floor and has the speed to get by his defender anytime he chooses. He is great at trapping the ball and getting steals off the opposing teams fast break. His quickness allows him to be a great on-ball defender as well. 

Brendon Lewis, 2020 PG, BMM (TX): Lewis has good size at 6'1", as well as a great body. His attacking style of play made it hard to keep him out of the lane. He was definitely one of the better finishers when attacking the rim, both in the half and full court setting. Court vision, rebounding and competitiveness are all attributes that describe his game. He has a ton of upside to his game at this point.

JaQuan Scott, 2020 PF/C, Team Texas Shooters (TX): Extremely long and athletic, the 6'6" post looks like a growing and evolving big man. He runs the floor extremely well and finishes well around the basket. He's a solid rebounder and standout defender as well. His best days are definitely ahead of him.

Aaron Steward, 2020 SF, LA Thunder (LA): A big bodied guard who loves scoring in transition, if he gets going downhill, he is almost impossible to stop when attacking the rim. He is a good on-ball defender and a decent rebounder from the wing position.  Athleticism and strength are two attributes Steward uses to his advantage on both offense and defense.
