Dallas, TX (Future150) -- Thursday kicked off action at the 2016 PrimeTime Nationals, and Houston Defenders (TX) 2021 wing Chris Felix was one of several prospects who emerged on Future150's radar.
Chris Felix, 2021 SG, Houston Defenders (TX): The 6'1" wing has an enormous amount of potential. He is far from filling out his frame, and has such a diverse set of skills, it's very hard to imagine just how good he can be after another year of growth at the middle school level.
Charleston Turner, 2021 SG, Bayou Titans (LA): Young for his grade, you'd never imagine it based on viewing the 6'1" wing in action. He's aggressive on both ends of the floor and showed that he's an exceptional slasher when going downhill. He also stood out as a defender on Thursday.
Skylar McCurry, 2021 PG, DFW Knicks (TX): When you think floor general at the lead guard position, McCurry does it all for his team. He has unbelieveable court visio,n especially in the full court. He shows a good feel for the game and makes everyone better. If you leave him open, his jump shot makes him a threat from both the mid-range and the three-point line.
Clayton Smith, 2021 C, Fresh Start Ballers (LA): A sight to behold in the gym was the 6'3", 185-pound big man. He has the look of a football player, with a chiseled physique, and large feet, which project future growth. The upside is definitely there, but his game is still a work in progress. However, he did score and rebound quite well on Thursday.
Jared Viesca, 2021 PF, IRise (TX): The 6'4" power forward was dominant in the paint all game long. He was controling the offensive and defensive glass, as well as scoring on put-back opportunities. He showed a nice high-post game and the ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the rim. He was definitely one of the better finishers around the rim we saw on day one.
Jaheim Gray, 2021 PF, Bayou Titans (LA): A 6'3" southpaw hailing from Louisiana, the Lockport product is an aggressive rebounder on both ends of the floor. He showed his ability to get to the foul line regularly because of his high-motor and relentlessness on the offensive end. Look for refinement in his game over the next year.
Mason Ballay, 2021 CG, All Missouri Attack (MO): Ballay was definitely one of the more well-rounded players we saw today. Competitor would be the word that best describes his game at this point. His team had a big second half deficit and he went on a big scoring tear to lead his to a two point victory. Every coach wants a player like him on their team due to the fact that he never stops giving his all on the floor. It was a solid overall performance on day one of the Primetime Sports Nationals for this prospect.
Jordan Clardy, 2021 PG, Houston Defenders (TX): A 5'8" lead guard with phenomenal instincts, the rising 8th grader looked very good running his team in leading them to an easy victory on opening day. He showed that he can score just as easily as facilitate, and we're betting that the best is yet to come as the competition level increases heading into this weekend.
