Alexandria, VA (Future150) -- 2019 F Christian DePollar of St. Stephens & St. Agnes (VA) looks to be a big time talent, his skill set is still raw but his potential is through the roof.
Already standing at 6'5, DePollar is a solid rebounder and defender. On offense he can make plays happen with his great court vision. He is capable of knocking down mid-range and deep jumpers, but is more reliable when slashing to the lane and finishing at the rim.
"Christian is an extremely hard working and coachable player. He really cares about getting better and he understands that basketball is a team game," Said DePollar's high school coach Marcus Ginyard.
DePollar has been one of those unique freshman who has made an immediate impact on his team, as his mature style of play allows him to do so.
"In his first year with us his abilities to rebound, get deflections on defense, and make timely shots when the defense focuses on our primary scorers have been wonderful additions to our program," Said Coach Ginyard.
Like most skilled freshman of DePollar's quality, the scary thought is realizing how much better and how good he can actually become after three more years of practice and playing time.
"As Christian develops he will be a consistent shot maker, finisher in the paint, team defender, rebounder, and leader," Ginyard said. "When you add those qualities to a 6'5 body that will develop in strength and athleticism, you have the making of a very attractive player to various levels and styles of college basketball."
The potential for DePollar is certainly there, how well he improves and reaches for his ceiling will be the most interesting thing to watch with him moving forward.
