Harrisburg, PA (Future150) -- High school prospects who understand the nuances of the game and play with a high basketball IQ are a rarity in this day and age.
Thankfully for Harrisburg High School (PA) sophomore Jahaad Proctor, he grew up with a coach for a father. Joe Proctor is an assistant for the Cougars, and he is seeing the fruits of his labors blooming before his very eyes this season.
Playing on one of the most powerful teams in the state of Pennsylvania, the 6'2" sophomore guard carved his niche on the Cougars squad with his long distance shooting as well as his ability to fill the stat sheet.
Harrisburg High opened the PIAA 4A state tournament Saturday night by stomping Central Bucks South 87-41. Not surprisingly, Jahaad led the charge with 17 points.
On the season, he is averaging over 13 points per game for the veteran laden squad. In their second round matchup Wednesday, the Cougars are matched up against Upper Darby High School, who will look to stop the talented sophomore.
Based on other defensive efforts from opposing teams this season, it doesn't look good for the Royals.
