Huntington, WV (Future150) -- On the eve of the 2014 NCAA Tournament, Huntington Prep (WV) guard JaQuan Lyle made one participating school very happy, and that school is the Oregon Ducks.
Picking the Ducks over Memphis and Oklahoma State, the 6-foot-5 power guard is a physical prospect who punishes guards on the low block but has the quickness to get to the hoop off-the-dribble as well.
Ranked as the #66 prospect in the country, his stock has fallen this high school season due to his coniditioning and consistency issues. When he's in his best shape, there are very few guards who can stick with the bullying combo guard.
Initially committed to Louisville last year, he then de-committed and schools such as Indiana and Kansas were heavily involved at points as well, showing exactly the kind of talent Oregon is landing for next season.
While he may not be an instant impact performer in the Pac-12, by the time all is said and done, he will have a very productive career out west.
