Birmingham, AL (Future150) -- In the past, LSU has become known for producing big men to the next level, such as Shaquille O’Neal and Glen Davis. With that being said, it is hard for efficient post players to ignore the track record of the Tigers.
Standing 7-feet tall, it is hard for many players to compare to Rozelle Nix, a 2013 center out of Kingdom Prep (GA).
Nix, a native of Ohio, is aware of LSU’s past big men, and when the Tigers began showing interest in him recently, they automatically shot to the top of his list.
“I really like LSU. They have built a big man system and they are known for it,” he explained.
In fact, Nix hopes to visit Baton Rouge this month, along with some others.
“Hopefully I can see LSU in October. I also would like to visit Dayton, Georgia, Auburn, and East Tennessee State in the future, too.”
Nearly touching 300 pounds, the senior knows he has a lot of work to do to play at the next level. Nix will have to lose some weight, as well as expand his game. During his time at Kingdom Prep, the 7-footer has already been working on different things.
“I want to keep working on my mid-range shot and getting quicker too. I know I need to slim down, but those are things I want to improve.”
In addition to the schools mentioned before, Wright State, Xavier, and Ohio State have also shown interest in the big man.
“I’m just looking to get better. That’s what I want.”
