New Haven, CT (Future150) -- With the early signing period behind us, the pool of available talent has gotten a lot smaller. For high-major programs, now is the time that they try and find new names to add to their big board heading into the spring.

One player who drew significant interest at the National Prep Showcase was Brewster Academy point guard Mike Okauru. The 6-foot-4 North Carolina native has always been an explosive athlete and good defender, but has clearly improved his leadership and point guard ability.

"I'm just working on my point guard skils so when I hit college I will be ready," said Okauru.

The steps forward he as made as far as being able to read the floor and create open looks for his teammates are impressive, and it looks as though point guard will certainly be his position at the next level.

Georgia, Florida, and UNLV have been the latest to reach out to him, while Clemson is his lone high-major offer.

With Okauru holding off until the spring though, that is far from a final list.

"I don't even have a list really, I just want to see how this season goes and see who else calls," he said.

Look for Okauru to keep improving his stock as Brewster plays their usually tough schedule and he shows the country that he is indeed capable of being a lead guard at the high-major level.
