Normal, IL (Future150) -- Seniors have been the talk of the town the past week or so with 2013 members signing their National Letter of Intent. However, a couple of juniors have made some noise in the past few days.
There had been rumblings that Keita Bates-Diop (Class of 2014, University HS, Ill.) could possibly have an early commitment. Where there is smoke, there is a fire.
Bates-Diop, arguably the biggest riser in the national rankings this spring and summer, made his commitment to Ohio State Sunday afternoon.
"Keita Bates-Diop has chosen to accept a scholarship offer from Ohio State and head coach Thad Matta," Mike Mullins, Bates-Diop's AAU coach announced via Twitter.
The 6-foot-7 small forward is a four-star sccording to Future150 and comes in at No. 37 in the 2014 Future150 Rankings.
While his potential is his biggest thing right now, Bates-Diop has shown the ability to be a lockdown defender. Look for him to be an impact in the future as his game continues to improve.
While many expected the Buckeyes to be done for a little bit, word surfaced Monday night that they had received another 2014 commitment.
Jae'Sean Tate, an in-state 6-foot-5 shooting guard, made it official for Thad Matta as well.
Tate is also a four-star and is the No. 78 ranked player in 2014.
