Teaneck, NJ (Future150) -- After a weekend visit to Manhattan, Hargrave Military Academy (VA) big man Neville Fincher and Kansas State both got what they were looking for.
Fincher, who is spending this season at Hargrave looking to improve his game, found a school and fan-base that was very interested in him and a place he believes he can succeed.
"I'm really comfortable at Kansas State. They showed the most love," he told Future150.com Monday night. "I like where they stand from an academic standpoint with their players, too."
As for Bruce Weber's squad, they were in need of a big man that can battle down low. With Fincher's 6-foot-9, 220-pound frame, he will be able to do just that for the Wildcats in the future.
While Fincher was drawing mid-major interest at Teaneck High School in New Jersey, the move to Hargrave really paid off, as more high-majors took notice of his talent and potential.
"Moving to Hargrave has been big. I feel like I have improved tremendously since August."
Fincher was also considering Seton Hall, Houston, Marshall, and Tulsa.
He joins Jevon Thomas, Marcus Foster, and Wesley Iwundu in Weber's inaugural recruiting class at Kansas State.
Fincher is a three-star according to Future150.
