Nemesis Crushers Win 13U Title at #HOUBattleground

Houston, TX (Future150) -- In a loaded 13U division the Nemesis Crushers came out on top by defeating Powerhouse Basketball in the title game. The crushers featured two very talented guards in the form of PG Jalen Collins and SG Trey Miller. Easily the best backcourt formation in the division, Collins used his mature lead guard skills to always be a step ahead on opposing defenders. Powerhouse was led by wing guard Adam Montenegro who scored in bunches all throughout the weekend. His size, IQ, and elite scoring abiltiies make him a very promising prospect for the future.

Future150 Houston Battleground 13U Honor Roll: 

Adam Montenegro, 2022 G/F, Powerhouse Basketball (TX): Montenegro has a very high IQ for a guard at his age, and was scoring from all three levels on a consistent basis. He scored 31 points in his team's second pool play game on Saturday, and he definitely passes the eye test as a young prospect. He needs to be watched closely as he heads into his 8th grade year. 

Trey Miller, 2022 SG, Nemesis Crushers (TX): An aggressive, high-volume shooting guard, Miller impressed with his high motor and ability to knock down the jump shot from virtually anywhere on the floor. He has solid size and strength, which allowed him to finish through contact consistently whenever he attacked the rim and got fouled. 

Chris Garrett, 2022 PF, Hoop Nation Family (TX): Standing around 6'0", he doesn't have the best size for a post at his age, but his high motor paired with his lanky frame allowed him to control the glass on both ends of the floor. He muscled in plenty of buckets around the rim and was always looking to affect any shot that came into the paint on the defensive end. 

Jalen Collins, 2022 PG, Nemesis Crushers (TX): Collins was a speedy lead guard, that knew how to control the tempo to his team's advantage. He loved to grab a rebound and get out and run in transition which usually resulted in a basket or assist for Collins. His overall IQ and decision making abilities was very impressive for a rising 8th grader. 

Ty Buckmon, 2022 PG, Legends Select (TX): Buckmon was showcasing his scoring during pool play, but as the weekend progressed he also showed off his true point guard abilities with his impressive vision in transition and crafty ball-handling. He was definitely one of the most entertaining players to watch in the 13U division, and could turn out to be a special prospect in the future. 

John Jenkins, 2022 PG, Texas Inferno (TX): Jenkins wasn't much of a threat as a shooter, but he was a blur in transition and got to the rim on command throughout the weekend. He was very good at slashing and kicking it out to his open teammates, as well as getting into the lane and getting the opposing team into foul trouble. Very solid weekend from Jenkins.
